Monochrome & Sen Jakuba

Kielecki Teatr Tańca
„Monochrome”

Opera i Filharmonia Podlaska, saturday, April 9th, 7 PM

Choreography:  Jacek Przybyłowicz

The spectacle is a kaleidoscope of dance scenes, non-narrative scenes, but full of emotions. They are a starting point for choreography and a pretense to show interrelations between an individuality and community. This is the spectacle of different  dance shades relations presented on a monochromatic stage.

The inspiration to my choreographic work was music by Krzysztof Penderecki The Awakening of Jakob, also referred to as The Dream of Jacob and the quotation from ‘The Book of Genesis’:  ‘Jacob woke from his sleep and said, “Truly the Lord is in this place, and I did not know.” So he was afraid and said, “How fearful and awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gateway to heaven.”
